Using Photographs
A scrapbook can never be
conceptualized without photographs. A photograph be the first thing that will catch the attention of even the most
biased on looker. It is a good idea to scan the photograph and then take a print out on paper that is lignin free
and acid free paper.
This way you will not damage the original photograph. A photograph can convey the
most eloquent ideas. They are very powerful mediums of expressions and add a lot of life into a
scrapbook.
Choose them with a lot of care and ensure that they follow the theme of the
scrapbook. You can even use digital photographs, which are printed on paper that is lignin free and acid
free.
Now that you have selected your photographs, make sure that they are not
oversized or miniscule in size. They have to be cut carefully to augment the beauty and aesthetic sense of your
scrapbook.
You can use an exact knife or scissors to cut the pictures, just remember to outline
the desired picture with a chalk before you cut. Take the trouble to be doubly sure with the measurements before
you cut as you can never undo what is done once in this case!!
In today’s scenario with so much of computer assistance you can use the help of the
Photo Editor to brighten, darken or contrast the background effect of the photograph to bring out it’s beauty. You
can even change the setting of the photograph if you want.
The placements of theses photographs are entirely at your discretion. The placements
can be in a chronological order, based on a color scheme, some specific occasions, or just casually.
If you are making a scrapbook to give as a birthday gift it would make sense to stick
photographs of the concerned person right from birth, through the growing years. The foot- prints and hand prints
would make the whole scrapbook extremely special.
You could write out some captions under the photographs to make it more personal and
interesting. Some special anecdotes can be handwritten or printed on the computer using fancy fonts and color
contrast schemes to beautify the scrapbook.
