This way you will not tend to make mistakes. A person who is going to talk about his family acquaintances can introduce himself first.

If you come across a camera shy person, switch over to the notebook or even a cassette recorder. This way also you can be sure you have not missed out on vital information.

Asking family members to write down his memories is also a good idea. You can gather a lot of information this way. This is an ideal way to get information from family members living far away. You can also interview them through telephones or get information through e- mail.
