Rainy day Scrapbooking with Children
For new parents who do not want to miss a precious moment of their
little ones, scrapbooking is ideal. Days when you are bored at home can be spent usefully with your
children making a scrapbook. After all little ones are not little forever.
You should make an effort to preserve milestones, memories and events that are
important so your children can look back and enjoy the memories in the years to come.
You can go in for the various baby books available in the market. These are easy to
create since you have pages printed. You just have to fill in the blanks with incidents and memories. But then,
there is no fun without a bit of creativity.
A good idea is to note down important events and milestones in your baby’s life
on calendars and later when you find time you can sit down and document the same making it more attractive by
adding pictures and photographs.
While looking for big events and milestones do not forget to photograph little things
like your child pouting in the corner, being mischievous, laughing with those twinkling eyes, etc. These are a very
important part of any collection.
Get your kids accustomed to video cameras so you can record happenings around them
naturally. Just record small and important happenings, moments, laughter, etc which you think is
endearing.
As children grow older, you can interview them and have a conversation with them
which you can record either on a cassette recorder or on the video.
Baby clothes which they have outgrown can be displayed creatively. You can
alternatively piece together pieces of their clothing to make an attractive quilt.
You can stuff their favourite T-Shirts with fibre fill to make pillows.
Though we wish we can document every single moment of our children’s growing up, the
least we can do is to capture at least some of those special moments.
