Layout ideas and themes
Before you go in for planning your
page layout, you will have to see what are the things like photographs, memorabilia, etc you are planning to
display. Planning on how to display these in a beautiful manner is what matters the most and is the whole point of
scrapbooking.
A layout can be either a single one or a double one depending on the number of
photographs
available.
It is interesting to create a theme for your layout. Ideas for themes range from
Halloween to Christmas to football and baseball.
The paper used is also very important. The paper should be very attractive as it will
display and show off your photographs. Taking your photos to the shop while you shop for paper is a good idea. You
can keep the photograph against the paper to see if it looks good before choosing the paper.
Papers can be bright and colourful with bold patterns if you want to set a
cheerful mood. If you want a much sober effect you can go in for subtle colours.
The next step is to frame or mat the photographs. You can give a rugged effect by
ripping off the edges carefully.
The next step involves journaling. Journaling is any kind of matter you want to put
in on your scrap book. You can talk about an incident in your family, tell a story, write a poem, talk about the
photo and about the moments when the photo was taken, etc. Journaling is a wonderful way of keeping memories
alive.
The last step involves choosing enhancements or embellishments for completing that
look. Enhancement options include rubber stamps, stickers, die cuts, stamped images, pressed flowers, buttons,
beads, mesh and a host of other interesting things.
After having collected all the necessary things required for your layout, you can
start playing around and using your creativity.
